Our story
A church built by the people who needed it most.
Harborlight didn't start with a strategy — it started with a handful of families who wanted a place where doubt, mess, and grace could all sit in the same room.
Church history
From a living room to the harbor.
What began as six families around a coffee table in 2011 is now a few hundred people learning to follow Jesus together, one ordinary Sunday at a time.
2011
Six families, one living room
David and Maria Renner began hosting a Sunday night gathering for friends who'd given up on church but not on faith.
2014
First public service
Harborlight held its first Sunday morning gathering in a rented school gym — 63 people showed up on day one.
2018
412 Harbor View Road
After four years of renting, the congregation purchased and renovated our current building on the water.
2021
Kids & Youth expand
Dedicated Kids and Youth ministries launched, along with our first international missions partnership.
Today
Still an open door
Two Sunday services, a growing small group network, and the same conviction that started it all: everyone belongs.
What drives us
Mission, vision & values
Mission
To help people in Cedar Cove and beyond take their next step toward Jesus — whatever step that is.
Vision
A church so full of grace and truth that anyone — skeptic or saint — can find their way home.
Values
Grace over guilt, community over crowd, generosity over comfort, and Scripture over opinion.
